Midam 1974 Centum BEXCO — Korean BBQ Right Next to BEXCO, Busan
Visited: October 2026 · First-hand review
If you're at BEXCO for a convention or exhibition and want proper Korean BBQ within walking distance, Midam 1974's Centum BEXCO branch is worth the detour. It's a charcoal-grill restaurant known for pork cooked to order and a genuinely good beef yukhoe, with an interior that feels more like a nice restaurant than a typical smoky BBQ joint. We went on a weekday evening — here's exactly what to expect.

- Rating: 4.89 on Naver (370+ reviews), certified "Safe Restaurant" by Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
- Good for: Group dinners (we went as a team of 4) — not really a quick solo lunch spot
1. Start with the yukhoe

The 1++ grade Korean beef yukhoe (150g, 30,000 KRW) is served on its own — a pile of seasoned raw beef with sesame, a raw egg yolk in sweet-ish soy sauce, pear strips, and microgreens on the side. One thing that stood out: it's not cut into the neat little squares you see at most places — it's cut thicker and more irregularly, which actually gives it more bite. Mix it with the egg yolk and sauce right at the table. It's a good way to start before the grill arrives.
2. The main event: pork, grilled perfectly

We were a table of 4 (coworkers, after a day at BEXCO), so we started with the Midam Hanpan (한돈, 900g, good for 3-4 people, 88,000 KRW) — belly, neck, and hangjeongsal (pork jowl) all came on the same plate. Hangjeongsal is leaner than belly but stays tender as long as it's not overcooked, and it was the standout cut of the night. We were still hungry afterward, so we added a Midam Banpan (한돈, 600g, 60,000 KRW) as a second round — 1,500g of pork total for 4 people, plenty. The meat comes out already grilled to the right point by the kitchen, so there's no fumbling with tongs or guessing when it's done — a small thing, but it makes a real difference when you're there to talk, not to tend a grill. Grilled pineapple, shishito peppers and green onion come on the same plate, with a separate dipping sauce in the center.
If you want to see the full menu and prices, the headline sets are:
| Set | Serves | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Midam Hanpan (한돈, 900g) — belly, neck & hangjeongsal | 3-4 people | ₩88,000 |
| Midam Banpan (한돈, 600g) — belly & neck | 2-3 people | ₩60,000 |
| 1++ Korean beef yukhoe (150g) | 1-2 people | ₩30,000 |
| Honeycomb pork skin (벌집껍데기, 200g) | 1-2 people | ₩8,000 |
Prices from the restaurant's official Naver Place menu. For our table of 4, Hanpan + Banpan + one yukhoe came to about 178,000 KRW total — roughly ₩44,500 per person.
3. Eat it tortilla-style

The part that surprised us most: instead of (or alongside) the usual lettuce wraps, Midam 1974 gives you thin tortillas to wrap the grilled meat in, along with a long row of small side dishes — wasabi, ssamjang, raw garlic, a sweet mustard-like sauce, pickled radish and onion, and a dark soy-based dip. Building your own wrap with a mix of two or three of these is genuinely one of the better versions of this idea we've tried — it adds texture without overwhelming the meat.
4. Atmosphere and value
The interior is noticeably more upscale than a typical Korean BBQ spot — proper tables, brass grill rims, good lighting. It's not silent, but it's quiet enough to actually hold a conversation, which made it a solid pick for a 4-person work dinner rather than a loud, cramped night out.
On price: this is not a budget BBQ spot — expect to spend more than at a typical neighborhood gogi-jip. But the quality of the meat, the fact that it's already grilled well by the time it reaches your table, and the range of side dishes make it feel worth the premium. We went on a weekday evening and got seated immediately with no wait, though weekends likely get busier given the 4.89 rating and 370+ reviews.
